The State Security Service of Georgia denies reports that, according to Ukrainian intelligence materials, there are networks of special secure communication terminals of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Georgia is incorrect.
According to the Service, no such information has been received from the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
In its statement, the Service explains that Ukrainian intelligence, in its statement, indicated the existence of Russian networks near Ukraine, on the front line and on the African continent, however, the location indicated in the photo published together with the statement left room for misinterpretation about Georgia.
The SSU statement states that they are trying to clarify what caused the dissemination of material that differs from the statement, which allowed specific groups in Georgia to "conduct a false and anti-state campaign."
“Since yesterday, various media platforms (as well as specific activists) have been spreading false information as if, based on Ukrainian intelligence materials, there are networks of special secure communication terminals of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Georgia. Nevertheless, none of the representatives of the aforementioned media platforms has contacted the security service so far.
We have not received any similar information from the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine. The latter, in its statement, indicated the existence of such networks near Ukraine, on the front line, and on the African continent. At the same time, the location shown in the photo published together with the statement left room for misinterpretation of the information they voiced about Georgia.
We are proactively trying to find out what caused the dissemination of material that differs from their own statement, which allowed specific groups to conduct a false and anti-state campaign in Georgia,” reads the information.
