A protest rally is taking place outside the Eagle Hills office

On Rustaveli Avenue, in front of the former "Rustaveli" cinema building where the Eagle Hills office is located, a protest rally titled “No to Arab Cities” is underway.

The rally is organized by four groups — “Sartuli,” “Georgian Republic,” “National Consensus,” and “Civil Consensus.”

According to one of the organizers, Levan Nishnianidze, leader of the political movement “Georgian Republic,” the main reason for the protest is the agreement signed with the Arab company.

“We have gathered with several demands. First of all, we demand the publication of the contract, which is marked as classified and justified on some commercial grounds, although the contracting party is the Georgian people, and the Georgian people must know what is written in the agreement. Therefore, we demand that the implementation of the project not begin until the Georgian people give their consent.

At the same time, we have been collecting signatures. We collected several hundred signatures in a very short time and continue to do so. We intend to continue, to demand and protest the fact that the project is being carried out without the will of the Georgian people,” said Levan Nishnianidze.

Citizens who have been continuously protesting in front of the Parliament for more than a year have joined today’s rally.
