My visit to Georgia concerned the democratic backsliding and the important role of civil society, Elina Valtonen, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Finnish Foreign Minister, said in her speech at the OSCE Ministerial in Vienna.

“Our commitment to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remains unwavering. We are promoting engagement with civil society through the Geneva International Negotiations and the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism. My visit to Georgia also concerned the democratic backsliding, the important role of civil society and people’s freedoms,” Valtonen said.
