According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the Marneuli District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department have detained four minors - A.A. (born 2008), Sh.O. (born 2006), M.A. (born 2008), and N.N. (born 2009) - who had previously been implicated in various crimes. They are charged with group theft committed by prior agreement, which caused significant damage.
According to the agency, the investigation established that the accused stole quick payment terminals located in the city of Marneuli and obtained a large amount of cash from them.
“Law enforcement officers detained the suspects a few minutes after the incident, at some distance from the crime scene, while they were traveling by taxi. During the personal search of the detainees and a search of the vehicle, the police seized the stolen money as evidence, and the damaged payment terminals were found in the nearby area.
The investigation also revealed that the suspects had previously robbed the store ‘Magniti’ located on Samed Vurguni Street in Marneuli in November of this year, stealing household goods.
The investigation is underway under Article 177, Parts 2 and 3(a) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a penalty of 4 to 7 years of imprisonment,” the Ministry’s statement reads.
