According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the Adjara Police Department have detained a German citizen, V.B., born in 2002, on charges of illegal purchase, possession, and facilitation of the distribution of an especially large amount of narcotic drugs.
According to the agency, during the search of the detainee’s person and temporary residence, police seized as evidence an especially large quantity of the narcotic drug methadone, which had been prepared for sale.
“Police also seized materials intended for packaging the narcotic substance. The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260^4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for imprisonment of up to 20 years or life,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in its statement.
