Tuition in state universities will be free not only at the bachelor’s level but also at the master’s level.
This change is included in the package of amendments to the Law on Higher Education, which was presented to the Sports Committee by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Zviad Gabisonia.
According to him, studies will be free in all 19 state universities.
“We are making higher education completely free. This implies a full state-funding model in state universities. Instead of the existing grant-based system, it will be replaced with full state funding. That is, students who are admitted to state higher education institutions according to the established quota system will have the opportunity to study entirely free of charge, both at the bachelor’s and master’s levels,” Gabisonia stated.
