“In recent days, a stream of disinformation has been directed against our country by the UK government - which is under the control of informal oligarchic governance - and by the so‑called media also under that control. Take care of your own country! Take care of your own people!” - said Irakli Kirtskhalia, Chair of the Georgian Dream parliamentary faction and leader of the parliamentary majority, speaking at the plenary session of Parliament.

According to him, “the real situation in the country that has time to engage in slander against Georgia is far from favorable.”

“In the past several days, our country has been targeted by a flood of disinformation coming from the UK government, which is under the control of informal oligarchic governance, and from the so‑called media under its control. In response to this disgraceful slander, I want to say the following:

‘Small businesses are dying, big businesses are leaving, people have to pull out their own teeth because they cannot afford a dentist. We are bringing in migrants who want to destroy our country. Gangs made up of people from different countries have been committing unimaginable sexual crimes against young girls for decades. These crimes were covered up by the government. We cannot deport anyone because of the human rights network and the diversification of our justice system. People are in despair, yet they are not allowed to speak about it. If you raise your voice against transgender ideologues, you can be arrested anytime, anywhere - at the airport, in your home, in your office.

The nation that invented freedom of speech, the nation where the free press was established in 1695, is now the homeland of state censorship. This catastrophe - the downfall of Britain, of England, of London - is being overseen by a ruling elite that hates our country. As for the BBC in particular, it is the main weapon for spreading disinformation, and I am glad that President Trump exposed these hypocrites.’

- I just read this statement by former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss, which very clearly reflects the real situation in that country that somehow finds the time to engage in such vile slander against ours.

Take care of your own country! Take care of your own people! That will be our response. And finally, we have no reason whatsoever to doubt Liz Truss’s words,” Kirtskhalia said.
