The State Security Service Training Center will be renamed, transformed into an academy, and will have the ability to offer students education through a master’s program.

According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Darakhvelidze, within the framework of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ initiative to transform the academy into a higher police educational institution, it is proposed that a new master’s program be established at the State Security Service Training Center for future SSS employees.

“Within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, there will be a bachelor’s program in Public Safety and Police Affairs, whose graduates will have police status and will be able to serve within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. At the State Security Service, there will be a master’s program, after completing which the SSS will have employees with a master’s degree,” Darakhvelidze stated.

The Parliament will review the legislative package in its first reading.
