A security warning regarding a potential terrorist attack led to the cancellation of Knesset members’ participation in the "Israeli Week" conference in Georgia

Following a warning about a potential terrorist attack, members of the Israeli parliament canceled their visit to Georgia, reports Arutz Sheva.

According to the report, the Knesset issued a security directive, leading the deputies to cancel their weekend visit planned as part of the “Israeli Week” conference in Georgia.

“Before any planned trip by Knesset members, a situation assessment is conducted, and the Knesset Guard discussed it with the deputies. Due to security reasons, we cannot provide additional details,” the Knesset told the outlet.

The conference, organized by the Israel-Georgia Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to begin on Thursday. Speaking to the media, the head of the Chamber, Itzik Moshe, stated that mayors, representatives of international organizations, and business leaders are expected to participate in the conference.

Moshe also noted that three years ago, an attempt was made to assassinate him in Tbilisi by a terrorist group linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
