State Security Service: Neither Georgian nor Israeli intelligence agencies had any information about potential terrorist attacks in Georgia

According to the State Security Service (SSS), neither Georgian nor Israeli intelligence agencies had any information about potential terrorist attacks in Georgia, and therefore did not share any such information with anyone.

The statement was issued in response to media reports claiming that Israeli parliament members canceled their visit to Georgia following a warning about a “potential terrorist attack.”

The SSS urged everyone to refrain from spreading “harmful and unverified information for Georgia.”

“Neither Georgian nor Israeli intelligence agencies had any information about potential terrorist attacks in Georgia, and therefore did not share it with anyone. We are in contact with representatives of the Israeli intelligence service, who expressed surprise at the dissemination of this false information. It is very unfortunate and notable that such information is being spread by some Georgian media outlets without verification with us.We categorically call on everyone to refrain from spreading harmful and unverified information for Georgia,” the SSS stated.

For context, according to Arutz Sheva, Israeli parliament members canceled their visit to Georgia following a warning about a potential terrorist attack. The report noted that the Knesset issued a security directive, resulting in the cancellation of the planned weekend visit for the “Israel Week” conference.

“Before any planned trip by Knesset members, a situation assessment is conducted, and the Knesset Guard discussed it with the deputies. For security reasons, we cannot provide additional details,” the Knesset told the outlet.
