National Movement files lawsuit with Constitutional Court against law banning political parties

The Unity - National Movement has filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court against the laws adopted by the Georgian Dream that prohibit political parties and specific individuals from carrying out political activities, reads the party's statement.

They say these laws contradict the Constitution of Georgia.

"We are appealing against those anti-constitutional and anti-democratic laws that contradict the Constitution of Georgia, as well as the European Convention on Human Rights and international standards, and which the Dream parliament specifically adopted to abolish pro-European parties and democracy in general," reads the statement.
