The second round of voting will be held to elect a new chairman of the Georgian Bar Association. The Association failed to elect a new chairman as a result of the voting today. More than 2,700 lawyers participated in the voting. Irakli Kandashvili, who advanced to the second round, received 1,283 votes, while Irakli Chomakhashvili received 1,109 votes.
The voting process ended at 7:00 p.m.
In accordance with the legislation, a second round must be held no later than 14 days later.
In the 2025 elections, there were 6 candidates seeking the position of chairman of the association - Nikoloz Kvantrishvili, Giorgi Mariamidze, Mukhrani Ghurtskaya, Irakli Kandashvili, Irakli Chomakhashvili, and Manuchar Chumburidze.
In addition, members of the Executive Board, Ethics Commission, and Audit Commission were also elected at today's meeting.
