Archimandrite Dorote Kurashvili suspended from performing priesthood duties

Archimandrite Dorote Kurashvili has been suspended from performing priestly duties. The relevant information was released by the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate.

According to the decree issued by the Patriarchate and signed by the Patriarch, Archimandrite Dorote’s right to perform priestly duties was suspended due to “multiple violations of ecclesiastical canonical ethics.”

“Despite warnings, the right to perform priestly duties of Archimandrite Dorote (Kurashvili), a clergyman of the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi of the Patriarchate of All Georgia, is hereby suspended on the basis of Apostolic Canon 55, due to repeated violations of ecclesiastical canonical ethics,” the Patriarch’s decree states.

The decree was published on the social media platform Facebook by the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate of All Georgia.
