According to Archil Gorduladze, the position of Ms. Kaja Kallas, Kos, and other unelected bureaucrats is that the truth must not be voiced — the truth should be trampled underfoot, and the only truth is what Euro-bureaucrats decide. This is how the Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee, Archil Gorduladze, responded to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, who, answering a question from a Rustavi 2 journalist, explained that unlike Georgia, the United States is not trying to join the European Union.
He said that they do not dare to say such things to America because of its strength, whereas making similar statements about Georgia is easier for them, as they believe Georgia is a “low fence.”
“The position of Ms. Kaja Kallas, Kos, and other unelected bureaucrats is that the truth must not be voiced — the truth should be trampled underfoot, and the only truth is what Euro-bureaucrats decide. They do not dare say this to America because of its strength, but when it comes to Georgia, it is easier for them to make such statements because they think we are a low fence. They are very mistaken, because Georgia is not a low fence and will always say when something is true and will always expose lies. That is precisely why there are attempts by Euro-bureaucrats and the forces behind them to blackmail the Georgian people,” Archil Gorduladze stated.
Gorduladze also spoke about the debates planned in the European Parliament and noted that European Parliament resolutions and debates are driven by lies, falsehoods, and attempts to attack the country.
“The number of European Parliament resolutions and debates has already become so large that we have lost count, but each of them has one common motive — lies, falsehoods, and attempts to attack our country by individuals who are directly controlled. Now we will again see debates held with the participation of only a few people in a huge hall, where no one will listen to anything and statements will be made solely so that media outlets, online platforms, and individuals controlled by the ‘United National Movement’ can issue statements and stage a several-day show,” Archil Gorduladze said.
For context, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, was asked the following question by a Rustavi 2 journalist:
“The European Union has repeatedly stated that Georgia cannot become an EU member under the rhetoric it uses toward European bureaucracy and the EU itself. Similar narratives are now reflected in the U.S. National Security Strategy as well. What is your response to this, given that Washington’s rhetoric now seems to align with Tbilisi’s policies? Are you ready to accuse the Trump administration of carrying out a Kremlin-dictated scenario, or does this reveal a fundamental double standard in your policy toward Georgia?”
In response, Kallas explained that unlike Georgia, the United States is not seeking to join the European Union.
“The difference is that the United States is not trying to join the European Union. Of course, what we read in the National Security Strategy is not pleasant reading, but we have adopted an approach of not interfering in the internal politics of our allies.
As for Georgia, the main problem is that while Georgia, on the one hand, declares its desire to join the EU and to choose the European path, we see steps taken by the government in the wrong direction. This is a signal to the government that as long as it continues policies of suppressing the opposition, pressuring free media, and other actions that contradict EU values, Georgia will have no future in the European Union,” Kaja Kallas said.
