Mikheil Kavelashvili - Strengthening regional and global peace and an open dialogue based on equality, mutual respect, and consideration of national interests remain our starting point

Our starting point remains the strengthening of regional and global peace and an open dialogue based on equality, mutual respect and consideration of national interests, - Mikheil Kavelashvili said at the Ambassadors' Conference 2025.

According to him, Georgia will never give up its sovereignty and choice to be an independent, democratic and peaceful state.

“In parallel, the most important priorities of our foreign policy are the de-occupation of two historical regions of Georgia and the policy of non-recognition. At the same time, we confirm our commitment to the approach according to which there is no alternative to the peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Today, we firmly defend our national interests. Our message is unequivocal, Georgia will never give up its sovereignty and the choice to be an independent, democratic and peaceful state. This is our historical responsibility and the basis of our state’s existence,” Kavelashvili noted.

According to him, it is up to Georgian diplomats to ensure that the country’s identity, centuries-old traditions and values are protected and correctly presented on the international stage.

“In this process, especially considering the above-mentioned challenges and opportunities, your role is especially important, because it depends on you, Georgian diplomats, that the identity of our country, the centuries-old traditions and values, which we are so proud of and on which our country stands, are protected and correctly presented in the international arena.

You have taken on a much greater and honorable mission than diplomatic activity - this is responsibility before the history, present and future of the country. Remember that you represent a country and people that never give up! Be confident, principled and, most importantly, united, because only in this way can the voice of Georgian diplomats be clearly heard in the international arena, a voice that firmly and faithfully defends the interests of the homeland and its people throughout the world,” said Mikheil Kavelashvili.
