Kakha Kaladze - We will spend the most money from the 2026 budget on social and healthcare, because for us the starting point is a person and health

I am confident that by standing together and with the support of other state agencies, the city will be greener, more orderly and modern in the coming years, - the Mayor of the capital stated at the session of the Tbilisi Municipality Government.

Kakha Kaladze spoke about the capital's 2026 budget, which the City Council approved yesterday, and noted that next year, finances will be directed to projects that concern the well-being and comfort of citizens.

“Yesterday, the Tbilisi City Council approved the city’s main financial document – the 2026 budget. As you may remember, in 2017, when we came to power, the budget amounted to approximately 861 million GEL. After that, the capital’s budget gradually increased, which allowed us to implement tangible changes in the city. Next year will be no exception. The total budget for 2026 is 2,193,388,700 GEL, which is 210,210,700 GEL more than the budget approved for 2025,” said Kakha Kaladze.

“Next year, the priority direction will be the development of infrastructure, as we believe that the infrastructural part of the city - roads, bridges, squares, regulation of municipal transport, etc., is important. Of course, we will spend the most money on social and healthcare, because for us the starting point is the person and his health, especially considering that everything that is done in the city is done for the well-being and comfort of our citizens,” the of Tbilisi noted.

In addition, Kakha Kaladze drew attention to the projects that the municipality will implement in 2026.

"Yesterday, we discussed in detail the large and new projects planned according to the draft budget, however, I will repeat once again that the coming year will definitely be the beginning of significant changes, as the following will be implemented: design/construction of a road bridge connecting the station square and Dadiani Street; arrangement/rehabilitation of squares; arrangement of the so-called Military City Park; rehabilitation of the Vake Park fountain cascade; construction of four kindergartens; replacement of dilapidated houses; rehabilitation of the Chess Palace; rehabilitation of Sulkhan-Saba and Ingorokva streets (including communications) and many other projects," the Mayor of Tbilisi noted.

Kakha Kaladze thanked the representatives of the Tbilisi City Council, the central government, and each employee of the department for their support.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Tbilisi City Council for their support. Many thanks to the central government, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Finance, because without their cooperation it would have been impossible to complete the already implemented or planned projects. Our employees also deserve our thanks, because without their tireless work and dedication, it is unthinkable to talk about success," said the Mayor of the capital.
