Kakha Kaladze - Regulating food prices is one of the state's priorities and this issue will be resolved very soon - the opposition opposes everything good happening in the country

Price regulation is very important - if you look at their [opposition] actions, they oppose everything good happening in the country, they oppose every step the country takes forward! - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told journalists, responding to the Prime Minister’s statement regarding high food prices.

As Kaladze noted, regulating food prices is one of the state’s priorities and this issue will be resolved very soon.

“I think price regulation is very important for the food products that the Prime Minister was talking about. If we make comparisons, in Georgia, prices for specific products are much higher than, for example, in European countries, whereas this should not be the case. Accordingly, it is necessary to regulate this, because this directly affects the population of our country, it affects the people who are most in need today and need support. Regulating this is one of the priorities of the state and this issue will be regulated very soon. There are many countries where a special basket of products such as, conditionally, flour, oil has been created, and their prices are higher than they should be. Let's wait for the investigation to find out what we are dealing with, why the prices are so different. I hope everything will be regulated,” said Kakha Kaladze.

As for the assessments of opposition representatives on this issue, according to Kakha Kaladze, the opposition opposes everything that is good happening in the country.

"If you look at their actions, they oppose everything that is good in the country, they oppose every step the country takes forward. On the contrary, they run around and do everything to hinder the country, even on the path of European integration, demanding the cancellation of the Association Agreement and imposition of sanctions against the country. They do not hide this, they speak openly and are proud that they are fighting against the country. They are committing outright treason. This is an ordinary crime, with their message boxes, with their statements. Regarding the cancellation of the candidate status, they went to the offices in Brussels and demanded that this decision be made, that the country be sanctioned, etc. They are ordinary traitors and enemies of the country, they are governed from the outside - they do whatever they are instructed to do," said Kakha Kaladze.
