“It is unfortunate; no one is happy about punishing anyone, even the sadist Bacho Akhalaia, but there is, in fact, a state interest that must be taken into account first and foremost,” said Gia Volski, First Vice-Speaker of Parliament.
As he explained, millions of lari have been spent to destabilize the country.
“We should not consider the Bacho Akhalaia issue as a separate episode. I am convinced that an entire system was put in place. Explosives were discovered there, coming from Ukraine, from people connected to this revolutionary group. Bacho Akhalaia himself was being called every minute at exactly that time, on October 4; positions were changing, certain configurations were being adjusted, routes for the movement of these extremists, and so on. How much money has been spent on lobbyists so that the unrest would take on an irreversible character - all of this must be viewed in a single context. I, my colleagues, and a large part of society have grounds to believe that this is exactly how it was happening and that events in Tbilisi were developing according to this scenario, as the investigation shows us.
It is unfortunate; no one takes pleasure in punishing anyone, even the sadist Bacho Akhalaia, but there is, in reality, a state interest that must be considered above all else. The destabilization of the country and the installation of a puppet government is something that specific individuals and specific forces need for specific purposes. This is where this scenario comes from and the involvement of so many people in it - with weapons, explosives, and by pushing forward certain individuals who supposedly represent society, non-governmental organizations. Tens of millions have been spent to destabilize the country,” Volski said.
