The court has imposed pretrial detention on Bacho Akhalaia as a preventive measure. The decision was made by Judge Maia Melkadze, who granted the motion submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office.

For reference, in the October 4 case, Bacho Akhalaia has been charged under Article 225, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia - organizing and leading group violence, an offense punishable by up to 9 years’ imprisonment.
