Irakli Pavlenishvili on Bacho Akhalaia's case - A legal precedent has been created - the number of calls is the main evidence against a person

A new legal precedent has been created, as if the fact of making a call is enough to arrest a person, - one of the leaders of the National Movement, Irakli Pavlenishvili, said in response to the detention of former Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia in connection with the events of October 4.

According to him, this standard is unacceptable.

"A new legal precedent has been created, as if the fact of making a call is enough to arrest a person. The main problem is that he knows specific individuals and had connections with them. The number of calls is the main evidence against this person. This standard is unacceptable to me," - said Irakli Pavlenishvili.

For information, Bacho Akhalaia was charged with organizing and leading group violence under Part 1 of Article 225 of the Criminal Code of Georgia in the October 4 case, which provides for up to 9 years of imprisonment as a form of punishment. The court sentenced Bacho Akhalaia to imprisonment as a preventive measure.
