A telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, according to information released by Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
“The ministers discussed the current state and prospects of the friendly and strategic partnership between the two countries. It was emphasized that the high-level political dialogue between our countries, as well as the intensive visits that have taken place, have contributed to the further strengthening of our relations,” the statement said.
According to the ministry, the parties underscored the importance of further expanding high-level political contacts in the coming year.
“The parties discussed issues of trade and communication in the region and welcomed the efforts made in this direction. They expressed satisfaction with the agreement reached regarding tariffs for the export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia via Georgia and emphasized the importance of continuing work in this area. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the Georgian leadership for the timely resolution of the issue,” the statement noted.
The ministry added that the ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues, conveyed sincere congratulations to each other on the upcoming New Year, and expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would further strengthen in the coming year.
