According to Levan Vepkhvadze, the prosecutor in the case of former Prosecutor General Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze, the case against Partskhaladze includes testimonies of Russian citizens, friends of the murdered businessman.
According to Vepkhvadze, the aforementioned individuals appeared at the prosecutor's office in person to provide information.
As the prosecutor notes, in addition to the testimonies of witnesses, there is other evidence in the case, which together confirms the organization of the premeditated murder of Levan Jangveladze by order of Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze.
“These are Levan Jangveladze’s relatives and friends who have important information. It was their civic duty to appear before the investigative body and provide the investigation with whatever information they had. These witnesses were questioned before the judge and they stated the information they had about Levan Jangveladze before the judge.
Naturally, their existence was unknown to us. The deceased Levan Jangveladze had many friends. They contacted the investigative body. This is a civic duty when they believe that they can help the investigation in some way. Of course, we interviewed them. They were also interviewed by a magistrate judge.
These witnesses confirm that Levan Jangveladze told them important information, that Partskhaladze had a conflict with him, among them, the Mikadzes were named, who had a conflict regarding business activities. Because of this, Levan Jangveladze was afraid and had taken certain security measures. The witnesses also mention important circumstances, however, I cannot reveal them at this stage, as they must be questioned during the consideration of the case on its merits,” Vepkhvadze states.
When asked when an international search will be announced for the former Prosecutor General, Vepkhvadze replies that “after the imposition of preventive detention, first of all, a search will be announced throughout the country and then an international search will be declared.”
For information, Otar Romanov Partskhaladze was charged in the murder case of businessman Levan Jangveladze. Specifically, he was charged under Article 25/109, Subsection “N” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies organizing premeditated murder by order and for profit.
The aforementioned crime provides for a sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Gela Udzilauri has been convicted of premeditated murder of businessman Levan Jangveladze. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Within the framework of the aforementioned case, a separate case is being conducted against several individuals, within the framework of which Giorgi Mikadze, Mamuka Baghdavadze, Giorgi Kachkachashvili and Sandro Tsivtsivadze are detained. for Davit Mikadze and Giorgi Jokhadze have been declared wanted.
