On the 400th day of the protest, demonstrators are planning to welcome the New Year on Rustaveli Avenue.
As reported, protesters will gather near the Parliament building at 10:00 PM.
Various activities are planned as part of this year’s protest event. According to information released by the organizers, messages from prisoners detained during the protests will be broadcast starting at 11:00 PM.
“At 10:00 PM, the public will be addressed by the guardians of Rustaveli Avenue—people who have been defending the country’s freedom and dignity for more than a year.
From 11:00 PM, messages from prisoners of conscience dedicated to the 400th day of continuous protest will be broadcast, reflecting on why one must not give up, how to confront hopelessness, and under what name this struggle will enter history.
From 11:00 PM, a long white cloth will be laid out near Parliament, on which anyone willing will be able to write their main message for future generations.
These messages will eventually find a permanent home in a private museum in Tbilisi, which we will create through our joint efforts, with one section dedicated to the history of urban and political protest in Tbilisi.
Near the First Gymnasium, artists will present musical and choreographic works created with a love of freedom.
All performers at our joint New Year’s event will participate free of charge.
From 11:00 PM, anyone on Rustaveli Avenue will be able to bring food to jointly celebrate the New Year and the 400th day of continuous resistance.
Standing together for our country’s independence is more important today than ever before,” the organizers of the December 31 protest stated.
