According to Georgian Railway, the Tbilisi–Zugdidi train, which had been stopped for several hours near the village of Gomi close to Khashuri, was replaced with an alternative train and has already departed.
As Georgian Railway told InterpressNews, the reason for the train’s stoppage was a technical malfunction, due to which passengers were transferred to another train.
Georgian Railway also released a statement saying that due to difficult meteorological conditions, trains operating on mainline and suburban routes will not run on January 3 and 4. According to the company, only the Tbilisi–Batumi–Tbilisi train will operate during this period.
