“Not only do we have no hope in the EU’s unelected bureaucracy - EU member states themselves have no such hope. What expectations can we have when forces stand behind them that are directly undermining the EU economy?” said Archil Gorduladze, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Issues, in response to a question about expectations regarding relations with the European Union in 2026.
According to him, the ruling team has no expectations from the “current bureaucracy,” and the government will take only those steps that are necessary for the population of Georgia.
He also emphasized that decisions about Georgia will be made in Georgia.
“There is economic recession in EU member states, and the social conditions of the population are not improving as they should. Naturally, we have no expectations from the current unelected bureaucracy, behind which there are numerous revelations of corrupt dealings.
We will take only those steps that are necessary for our society, for our Georgian people, for every citizen of Georgia, and we will uphold one clear idea and position: decisions about Georgia are made in Georgia,” Archil Gorduladze stated.
