Officers of the Kareli District Division of the Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested two individuals on charges of group robbery: previously convicted A.M. (born in 1990) and G.K. (born in 2000).
The Ministry of Internal Affairs released the information.
According to the agency, the investigation is being conducted under Article 178, Part 2, Subparagraph “a,” and Part 3, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which предусматривает up to 8 years of imprisonment.
“Investigation established that A.M. and G.K., who were visiting their friend G.M. at her residence in the village of Dvani, Kareli Municipality, unlawfully took money belonging to the host.
The homeowner immediately noticed the theft and attempted to recover the money, which led to a physical confrontation at the scene. G.M. tried to make a call to the Public Safety Management Center ‘112’; however, the suspects snatched her mobile phone and fled the scene together with the unlawfully obtained money.
As a result of prompt operational measures and investigative actions carried out hot on the trail, law enforcement officers arrested A.M. and G.K. as suspects.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 178, Part 2, Subparagraph ‘a,’ and Part 3, Subparagraph ‘a’ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment,” the statement says.
