Competition announced for the preparation of the Government City master plan and conceptual projects – the project will be implemented on the so-called Arsenal Hill, near Gedevanishvili Street

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced a competition for the preparation of the master plan and conceptual projects for the Government City. This information was released by the Municipal Development Fund.

The notice states that the large-scale project will be implemented in Tbilisi on the so-called Arsenal Hill, near Gedevanishvili Street.

“The aim of the Government City project is to increase access to public services, create a modern, unified space, strengthen and optimize inter-agency coordination, and ensure the smooth conduct of events of state and public significance.

The master plan should cover the functional zoning of the area, safe and rational development of transport and engineering infrastructure, full integration with the city’s existing network, as well as landscape planning and landscaping considerations.

Within the project, zones for the placement of the highest representative and executive bodies should be defined, as well as office spaces and open and closed event areas for central and sectoral state governance institutions. Underground and above-ground transport, parking, recreational and green zones, and auxiliary infrastructure for technical equipment and engineering communications should also be taken into account.

The Government City territory will house the Parliament building, Government Administration, and the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Infrastructure, Regional Development, Labor, Health and Social Protection, Economy and Sustainable Development, Environment and Agriculture, Education, Science and Youth, and Culture. In addition, it will accommodate Tbilisi City Hall, the State Security Special Service, and the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.

Pre-project research includes a comprehensive study of the area, assessment of the technical condition of existing buildings, topographic and geological surveys, and analysis of engineering communications.

Detailed information about the market research announced for the preparation of the Government City master plan and conceptual projects is available on the official pages of the Municipal Development Fund,” the statement said.
