According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of a joint operation, employees of the Migration and Patrol Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained and deported a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, B.M., born in 1998.

According to the agency, on January 7 of this year, the aforementioned person became aggressive while at Tbilisi International Airport, grossly violated public order, and verbally abused employees of the Patrol Police Department when they called on him to maintain public order, which resulted in B.M. being administratively detained.

“By the decision of the Tbilisi City Court, a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany was found guilty of violating Articles 173 and 166 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. He was subjected to an administrative penalty of 4,000 GEL, as well as deportation from the country and a ban on entering Georgia for a period of 3 years.

Based on the court decision, B.M. was escorted by employees of the Migration Department to Tbilisi International Airport, where his deportation was carried out.

It is noteworthy that according to the amendments to the Law “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”, the mechanisms for the deportation of both illegally and legally residing foreign citizens in Georgia have been changed, which provide a legal basis for their expulsion from their country if there is an appropriate legal basis," reads the information.
