Archbishop Dimitri to the Ukrainian people - Your courage is admirable - know that millions of people in different countries of the world are thinking of you, praying for you and wishing you peace

Metropolitan of Batumi and Lazeti, Archbishop Dimitri Shiolashvili, addresses the Ukrainian people. The address has been disseminated by the Diocese of Batumi and Lazeti.

“I write these lines to you with great sorrow and deep sympathy. We see how cities are collapsing before your eyes, how children, mothers and the elderly are suffering, people who should never have become victims of war. Your courage inspires admiration. Know that millions of people in different countries of the world are thinking of you, praying for you and wishing you peace,” the address reads.

According to the Metropolitan of Batumi and Lazeti, “the resilience of the Ukrainian people is the voice of humanity.”

"We believe that the day will come when your cities will once again be filled with laughter, when children will play under peaceful skies, when the sound of sirens will be replaced by the music of life. May the Lord protect you so that you can get through this terrible time. May hope not disappear," the appeal states.
