In the “Sphero Holding” case, the director of “Sphero Invest,” Giorgi Murusidze, has been detained abroad. The information was confirmed to InterpressNews by the Prosecutor’s Office press service. According to the agency, the relevant procedures regarding extradition are currently underway.

According to available information, Giorgi Murusidze was detained in Italy.

Criminal prosecution against him was initiated by the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office in November of last year, and an international search warrant was issued.

As a reminder, in the “Sphero Holding” case being handled by the Anti-Fraud Division, the founder of “Sphero Holding,” Givi Tsuleiskiri, was arrested on charges of fraud involving the unlawful acquisition of large sums of money belonging to citizens by a group acting in prior agreement and abusing their official position. Criminal prosecution was also launched against the director of “Sphero Invest,” Giorgi Murusidze.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Givi Tsuleiskiri and Giorgi Murusidze had 244 citizens transfer large sums of money to the organization’s bank account. They then failed to fulfill their obligations and fraudulently appropriated up to 12 million GEL.
