According to Tamar Gagua, the lawyer of Amiran Darjania, who was detained in connection with the murder on Marjanishvili Avenue, her client is avoiding talking about the alleged crime and is minimally participating in questioning.
The lawyer told InterpressNews that Darjania does not deny knowing the deceased woman - they were neighbors and grew up together from childhood - but he denies the murder itself and claims that “she is not dead.”
“I met him yesterday. Shortly after his detention, a lawyer was appointed, as he is subject to mandatory legal defense due to his mental health problems. Investigative actions were carried out yesterday. Before that, I met him and communicated with him. He does not speak at all about the alleged crime and participates minimally in the question-and-answer process. As for the circumstances, he denies them and completely rules them out. He said that she is not dead - that is the only thing he said. He does not deny knowing the woman; they were neighbors and grew up together from childhood. However, regarding the incident itself, he avoids questioning, does not speak, and remains silent. He does indeed have mental health problems,” the lawyer stated.
