Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Daraselia, at the initiative of the American side, met with US Chargé d’Affaires Alan Purcell. As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reports, the meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry yesterday.

“During the meeting, the American side provided the Deputy Minister with detailed information on the decision of the State Department, which concerns the temporary suspension of the issuance of specific categories of visas.

In particular, the US Chargé d’Affaires explained that the suspension of visa processing for citizens of more than 70 countries of the world, including Georgia, applies only to immigration visas. It is noteworthy that this does not apply to visas issued for other purposes.

The meeting also discussed bilateral and multilateral issues, as well as current events in the region,” reads the information.
