Police arrest Turkish citizen wanted with a red notice in Batumi

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a citizen of the Republic of Turkey who was wanted with a red notice.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Turkish citizen, wanted for threats, insult, and acquisition/possession of a small amount of ammunition, was detained in Batumi by law enforcement officers.

“Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department, the Adjara Main Directorate, and the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested A.Ch., born in 1988, a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, who was wanted by Interpol with a red notice.

The detainee was wanted by the Republic of Turkey for various categories of crimes, including threats, insult, and acquisition/possession of a small amount of ammunition.

Following investigative actions, law enforcement officers detained A.Ch. in Batumi.

Extradition procedures for the detainee are being conducted in accordance with the law,” the statement reads.
