State Security Service - Two Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territory near the village of Dvani on January 13 have been released

According to the State Security Service, two Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territory near the village of Dvani in the Kareli municipality on January 13 of this year have been released.

According to the service, they are in the territory controlled by the central government.

“All relevant instruments at the disposal of the central government were actively used in the process of releasing illegally detained Georgian citizens.

Based on the best interests of those illegally detained, we deliberately refrained from naming their names and from disclosing other details so as not to hinder the process.

Existing practice also shows that in such cases it is much easier to achieve the desired result.

The central government of Georgia, the State Security Service, continues to work actively to release all Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territories,” reads the statement.
