Court leaves persons detained in October 4 protest case in custody

Tbilisi City Court has left the persons detained in the October 4 protest case in custody.

Some of the defendants' lawyers filed a motion to have their detention revoked, while others filed an alternative request for bail. The defense cited the evidence presented in the case as a reason for the remand, stating that the defendants' guilt was not established.

The prosecutor's office requested that the detention be maintained, citing the defendants' influence on witnesses, the threat of absconding, and the risk of reoffending. Ultimately, the court granted the prosecutor's motion and left the detainees in custody.
