In Tkibuli, at one of the restaurants, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and two individuals accompanying him assaulted two officers of the Security Police and another person as a group - an investigation has been launched

In a restaurant located in the Tkibuli Municipality, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and two individuals accompanying him committed group violence and, during a verbal altercation, verbally and physically assaulted two employees of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and another person who was with them. The Prosecutor’s Office has released this information.

According to the agency, an investigation into the incident is underway.

“An investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Division of the Western Georgia Regional Prosecutor’s Office into the fact of group violence committed by an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and persons accompanying him at a restaurant located in the Tkibuli Municipality. The investigation is being carried out under Article 126, Part 1¹, subparagraphs ‘b’ and ‘g’ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to group violence committed against two or more persons.

At this stage of the investigation, it has been established that on January 19, 2026, at a restaurant located in the Tkibuli Municipality, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and two individuals accompanying him committed group violence and, during a confrontation, verbally and physically assaulted two employees of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who were present at the same restaurant, as well as another person accompanying them.

The scene of the incident has been examined, eyewitnesses have been questioned, material evidence related to the case has been seized, video recordings have been requested, and medical examinations have been appointed.
