A police officer, Mikheil Gigauri, along with Defense Ministry employees and two other individuals, were each charged 4,000 GEL bail in connection with a physical altercation at a restaurant in Tkibuli, reportedly triggered by a Russian song.

According to the investigation, the incident involved employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Defense Ministry engaging in a physical confrontation. The head of Kutaisi Police Department No. 6 is accused of violence against officers of the Internal Affairs Ministry’s Protection Police Department.

Reports from Info Imereti indicate that the prosecution did not request detention, instead asking the judge to apply bail.

The clash occurred when the Protection Police officers wanted to play a song by Mikhail Shufutinsky at the restaurant, but criminal police officers at another table objected, which escalated into a verbal and physical confrontation affecting all parties present.
