The Prosecutor's Office has issued a statement regarding the death of a State Security Service employee.

According to the agency, the Investigation Department of the Tbilisi Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the death of an employee of the State Security Service's Anti-Corruption Agency under Article 115 of the Criminal Code. This article refers to incitement to suicide.

"An employee of the Anti-Corruption Agency was found dead in his car this morning from a gunshot wound. During the inspection of the scene, a gun that the deceased had with him and a letter that was seen on the side seat were seized.

Relevant urgent investigative actions are underway," reads the information.
