Russia has brought Georgia back into its orbit, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said during her address to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
In her speech, President Sandu spoke about Russia’s hybrid operations.
“Moldova is not the only country facing these challenges. We see similar pressure across Europe. I am proud to say that Moldova has withstood this two-year attack through the efforts of the entire society. Our citizens have demonstrated their commitment to peace, Europe, and democracy,” Maia Sandu stated.
According to her, “Russia has brought Georgia back into its orbit by using the fear of war as a tool.”
“I regret that Georgia, despite the courage of the Georgian people, who continue to defend democratic values, European aspirations, and the right to determine their own future, has been brought back into Russia’s orbit. Russia returned Georgia to its orbit by using the fear of war as a weapon and through messages suggesting that making the ‘wrong’ choice in elections would come at the cost of peace,” Sandu said.
