U.S. congressional staff visiting Georgia meet with opposition party leaders

At the residence of Alan Purcell, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy, opposition party leaders are meeting with a delegation of U.S. congressional staffers who are visiting Georgia.

Those attending the meeting include Badri Japaridze, one of the leaders of Lelo – Strong Georgia; Zura Japaridze, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change; Levan Tsutskiridze, leader of the Freedom Square party; and Giorgi Baramidze, political secretary of the United National Movement.

According to Badri Japaridze, the discussions will focus on restoring the strategic partnership between the United States and Georgia.

“We will talk about the need to restore the strategic relationship between the United States and Georgia, and about how crucial it is to implement international infrastructure projects in Georgia with the direct participation of the United States and with security guarantees,” Badri Japaridze said.
