Marta Kos on “Georgian Dream”: I cannot support a government that acts and works against its own people - the only thing I can tell them is to stop this absurdity and start working toward a European future

“I cannot support a government that acts and works against its own people,” said Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement, in Brussels ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

Kos was responding to a question from Euroscope regarding the legislative changes announced by Georgian Dream.

“The country is moving further and further away from the EU’s future prospects. The only thing I can tell the government is to stop this absurdity and start working toward a European future. In addition, we support civil society organizations, and several of them were received in my office this week. We also, of course, support the media. So, please, stay strong,” Kos stated.
