Protesters gathered near TSU are marching toward the Technical University

Students gathered near the First Building of Tbilisi State University (TSU) are marching toward the Fifth Building of the Georgian Technical University.

According to the students, they will join the ongoing protest at the Technical University and jointly oppose the announced reform.

The protesters are demonstrating against a statement by the Minister of Education, Givi Mikanadze, regarding the merger of Tbilisi State University and the Georgian Technical University.

Earlier, students gathered near TSU’s First Building demanded a meeting with Rector Jaba Samushia. They say that Jaba Samushia is obliged to protect the university from state interference.

According to the protesters, the protest will continue until Jaba Samushia meets with the students.
