In an interview with the South Korean media outlet The Korea Herald, Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, released information about the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries.

As Samkharadze told the outlet, an agreement on the Georgia-Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership has been reached and legal teams are currently working on finalizing the text for signing this year.

He also emphasized Georgia’s strategic role in the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, noting that it is the main connecting link between the East and the West.

“Our goal is to make this corridor not only the shortest but also the most convenient route between Europe and Asia. Georgia is a vital connecting link, and it is in the interests of Korean companies to use Georgia’s transit potential for exports to Europe,” Nikoloz Samkharadze said in an interview with The Korea Herald.
