The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses concern about the “rapid deterioration of the situation in Georgia” and hopes that the activation of the “Moscow Mechanism” will contribute to the implementation of OSCE commitments by Georgia.
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the Georgian authorities to cooperate and facilitate the work of the mission.
The Ministry’s statement is published by the Dutch Embassy.
“The Netherlands and 23 OSCE participating States have activated the Moscow Mechanism, which involves the establishment of a fact-finding mission to assess Georgia’s implementation of its OSCE commitments.
We have repeatedly expressed concern about the rapid deterioration of the situation in Georgia, including the lack of accountability for human rights violations documented in various reports since the demonstrations began in November 2024.
"We hope that the launch of the Moscow Mechanism will contribute to Georgia's fulfillment of its OSCE commitments.
We call on the authorities to cooperate and facilitate the work of the mission," reads the statement.
