National Food Agency identifies expired medicines and critical violations during inspections of veterinary clinics

As a result of state control conducted in the capital, inspectors of the Tbilisi Department of the National Food Agency and specialists from the Veterinary Control Division identified critical non-compliances in veterinary clinics. The National Food Agency released this information.

“Out of 20 inspected facilities, violations were found in 8 veterinary clinics:LLC New Veterinary Clinic, Individual Entrepreneur D.S., LLC Veterinary Clinic Vet.Art, LLC DTNB, LLC Zaravet, LLC Vetcenter Zooplaza, Individual Entrepreneur T.Dz. (Bionika), and LLC Vet Hospital.

Due to improper sterilization of instruments, the activities of two clinics were suspended. Violations were also recorded in vaccine storage rules, as well as the use of unregistered, expired, and unfit medicines, and operating without registration in the Registry of Economic Activities, for which business operators were fined.

The National Food Agency carries out continuous state control in clinics, veterinary pharmacies, and pet shops. This year, inspections are planned for up to 1,500 facilities subject to veterinary control.

The Agency urges consumers that, in case of detecting any violations, they should contact the hotline of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture - 1501. No report will remain without response,” the statement says.
