Kvemo Kartli police arrest three individuals on charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty and rape for the purpose of forced marriage

Officers of the Rustavi City Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested three individuals - K.K. (born in 1996), S.K. (born in 1992), and E.B. (born in 1997) - on charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty and rape committed by a group with prior agreement. The Ministry of Internal Affairs released this information.

According to the Ministry, the investigation established that K.K., together with accomplices S.K. and E.B., forcibly placed a girl born in 2006 into a vehicle with the intention of marrying her, took her to Gardabani Municipality, illegally deprived her of liberty, and sexually assaulted her.

“Following investigative actions carried out in the case, law enforcement officers arrested the suspects shortly after the crime, in a hot pursuit.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 143(3) and 137(1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which предусматривает up to 10 years of imprisonment,” the statement says.
