Tea Tsulukiani - Gakharia demanded armed protection to come to the commission, I did not shoot, nor did the commission members, and from whom did he need to be protected with weapons? - We have done so much, we expelled this person from the country, and what defeat are you talking about?

Sharashidze said that we are not participating because Gakharia emerged victorious in the debate with Tsulukiani at the session of the investigative commission and they have already defeated us - the conclusion states that Gakharia, with his unilateral and irresponsible decisions, lost a very large territory to Georgia - the result of the debate is that we expelled this person from the country and I don't know what kind of defeat we are talking about, - this is how the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Tea Tsulukiani, addressed Giorgi Sharashidze, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, at today's plenary session.

In her address, Tsulukiani also noted that "before you mention my name, know that this cannot be a free mention."

“Giorgi Sharashidze said that we are not participating in the debates because Gakharia won the debate with Ms. Tsulukiani at the session of the investigative commission and that he has already defeated us. Mr. Chairman, I don’t remember if I told you or not, but when Gakharia decided to come to the session, he demanded from us that if he came, he would come only with security. He did not intend to come at first, they had a briefing scheduled in the party. As the chairwoman of the commission, I made the decision that if a person has fear and anxiety, he can come with security, there is no problem. In such a case, in Mr. Giorgi [Sharashidze’s] place, I would have spoken less blatantly about some kind of fearlessness. Then, when the security came, I don’t know if I told you or not, this security was going to enter with weapons. Here too I have questions about who they were protecting this person from with a gun. It is well known, and even more so, it should be known to the former Minister of Internal Affairs, that I do not have a gun. So to speak, I do not shoot. So were the members of the commission.

Therefore, Mr. Giorgi, before you mention my name, know that this cannot be a “free mention”. This debate is between us, Mr. Gakharia and I, who I know better than you, whether we win or lose, it is not for me to decide. This is decided by the people who have been watching us.

The ladies of your party, who are more experienced and intelligent than you, requested the [commission’s] conclusion and we handed over several copies. Find out, it is directly written that Gakharia, with his unilateral and irresponsible decisions, lost a very large territory to Georgia, which is now controlled by the occupying state - Russia. If it were not for this decision, the situation there would be different today.

This is based on facts, it is written in the conclusion, read it. Therefore, the debate about who won then, this is written in the conclusion. When the second time came, there was also a big, inconsolable debate about whether [Gakharia] should come or not. He finally came, but his assistant told us that I think 5-6 people would come with him. I may have a bad reputation because of my character and other things, because of my approaches or directness, but if there is going to be a hand-to-hand fight, I don't need 5 people there. Even one person is enough to knock me down. Therefore, I don't know who he came to fight with. In the end, we did so much and the result of the debate was that we expelled this person from the country, and I don’t know which defeat you are talking about,” Tsulukiani said.

For information, at today’s plenary session, Giorgi Sharashidze, MP from the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, spoke about the reasons for refusing the debates that were broadcast on Rustavi 2 yesterday. According to Sharashidze, “when we agreed to the debates, we meant a real debate and not the simulated panel discussion that one of the TV companies offered us yesterday.”
