So-called court of occupied Donetsk sentences Giorgi Baramidze to 6 years and 6 months in prison in absentia

The so-called court of occupied Donetsk sentenced Giorgi Baramidze to imprisonment in absentia, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office reports.

According to the statement, the so-called “supreme court” of occupied Donetsk found the former Minister of Defense of Georgia, Giorgi Baramidze, guilty in absentia of “participation as a mercenary in the armed conflict” and sentenced him to 6 years and 6 months in prison.

According to the same report, Baramidze arrived in Ukraine in February 2022, joined the “Georgian Legion” and until April 2022 participated in combat operations against the Russian Armed Forces.
