Alan Gagloev submits Dzambolat Tedeev’s candidacy to the “parliament” for the position of so-called prime minister

The de facto president of occupied Tskhinvali, Alan Gagloev, has submitted Dzambolat Tedeev’s candidacy to the “parliament” for the position of so-called prime minister, according to a letter Gagloev sent to the de facto parliament.

“Pursuant to Article 50, Paragraph 5 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia, I submit the candidacy of Dzambolat Tedeev for the position of Chairman of the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia in order to obtain the consent of the parliament,” the letter states.

Last month, following the dismissal of the so-called government and the removal of so-called Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev from office, Alan Gagloev appointed 35-year-old Dzambolat Tedeev as acting “prime minister.”

Between 2021 and 2023, Dzambolat Tedeev headed the de facto ministry of economic development of occupied Tskhinvali, after which he held the positions of “vice-prime minister” and “minister of finance.”

For reference, the de facto president of occupied Tskhinvali, Alan Gagloev, dismissed Konstantin Dzhussoev’s “government” on January 21. According to media reports, Dzhussoev’s removal was linked to the alleged misuse of funds received from Russia and questions surrounding the implementation of a socio-economic development program.
