Suspect accused of premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances extradited to Georgia at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office

At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, a suspect identified as G.P., who was wanted under an Interpol Red Notice for premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances, has been extradited to Georgia.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the extradited individual is charged with premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances, a crime punishable under Article 109, subparagraph “m,” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

“The investigation established that on February 18, 2025, in a residential apartment on Bezhan Kalandadze Street in Tbilisi, the accused verbally and physically abused the victim and committed acts of violence against them, as a result of which the victim sustained life-threatening injuries and died at the scene. Following the incident, the accused and other individuals present at the scene fled.

Legal procedures to place the accused on an international wanted list began shortly after he went into hiding. He was wanted under an Interpol Red Notice starting from March 4, 2025. As a result of the intensive international efforts of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, the extradition of G.P. from Russia to Georgia was carried out on February 2, 2026.

It should also be noted that in connection with this case, law enforcement officers promptly detained three individuals for failure to report a particularly serious crime, while one person managed to evade arrest. The court found all four defendants guilty of the charges brought against them and sentenced two individuals to 4 years and 3 months of imprisonment, one individual to 5 years, and the fugitive to 7 years of imprisonment. An international search for the fugitive is ongoing,” the statement reads.
